The HYT 1688 PMR446 radio is one of the most advanced, rugged and stylish on the market. It comes supplied with drop in chargers, rechargeable batteries and a 240v AC adaptor.
It is extremely compact and lightweight, and has easy to use controls packed with a good array of features for quality communications. These radios are ideal for a number of applications.
Cost Free Operation: No license fee or airtime charges, just drop in the supplied battery pack or 3 batteries and talk!
Internal Voice Operated Transmission (VOX): With the use of an appropriate headset, you can speak and listen to a radio conversation without having to use your hands.
38 CTCSS, Channel/CTCSS Scan: The radio will scan all channels when using a normal channel, and memory channels only when using memory channel. Auto Squelch: Four squelch levels available with level 1 the lowest and level 4 the highest. Higher squelch level avoids interference and noise from unwanted signals.
Monitor Function: Press monitor key to enable.
Voice Compression and Expansion: Crisp, clear and strong audio quality in virtually any noisy environment. Low level expansion allows further improvements in audio quality by reducing noise usually heard during pauses in conversations.
Roger Tone / Beep: Release PTT when conversation is over and receiver will hear the roger tone.
Time Out Timer (TOT): Limits the amount of time a user can continuously transmit on one channel. This allows for a more efficient use of the channel.
5 Different Call Tones: The user can select from five distinct call tones.
Communication Range Alarm: The radio beeps when the user is almost out of range.
Button Beep: This feature can be enable and disabled by the user.
Large Backlighted LCD Display: The large backlight LCD display provides quick recognition of operation and battery status. For enhanced viewing, pressing the backlight key illuminates the LCD display.
